Q:"Now that SchoolTM is run by the corporations, it's pretty brag, because it teaches us how the world can be used, like mainly how to use our feeds" (pg. 90). In what ways does school and/or society teach us how to use the world? Why is consumer culture so strong? Why is it beneficial for companies to teach people how to consume? how is it dangerous?

A: School teaches us to take care of the earth. Don't pollute it, litter it, and etc. Society teaches us to consume by advertisisng it in the media. Consumer culture is so strong because a lot of people likes to consume. They buy something and then a couple of days later they didn't even use that item anymore. It's a beneficial for companies to teach people how to consume because if they can persuade their costumer they get money. They don't care about the costumer they care about persuading people to buy their stuff. Then they just got more money. It's dangerous because the more we buy the more waste we have and the more we pollute the earth. If we do this there will be global warming or more natural disaster. If we don't take actions now then we will regret. It will be to late for us to clean the earth.

Q:Respond the following passage: " They're also waiting to make you want things. Everything we've grown up with...it's all streamlining our personalitites so we're easier to sell to...they do these demographic studies that divid...". Relate this to marketing tactics in today's society. What is your "type?" What ads would you get if you had a "feed?" how often would you "chat" if you had the "feed?" How would "chatting" affect modern day communication?

A: If I had a feed I think they will advertise those stuff that I seem interested in it. Such as, clothing, pet, plant, and etc. If I have a feed I think I will chat like a day and not do a thing. I will just lay down on my bed and chat all day long. Well of course I will get up to get some food too. I think that a lot of people would be chatting all day long. Even nowadays a lot of people text message to one another or talk on the cell phone.

Q:" We enter a time of calamity". What does this mean? Write about your response to it.

A: I think this mean that a disastrous situatoin/event is going to happen. For example, the part where they cut down trees to build an air factory. In the future they are going to run out of oxygen because it is polluted. The reason it is polluted because photosynthesis couldn't happen. There were no trees left to do that process.
